regarding neighbours
Neighbourhood adds are postponed indefinitely. I will not be adding anyone for the time being.
Don't ask me to add you, because I won't. Mostly, it's just my personal posts that are locked. Uploads are open for all for the most part.
I will not add people I do not know. This means if I cannot see any entries and you don't comment, I can't see what you're like, and will not add you.
You can add me, I don't mind you adding me, just remember that I'm not going to add you back.

i had to come out of hiatus for this day of course! i can't stay away for Arashi's cd debut anniversary and i don't have anything due yet

there's so much stuff i've missed out - so many things to catch up on - like Korea con T^T but i want to save it for when i don't have to stress so much over it ><

i'm well aware of the problems with the site, and i can't fix anything yet. one, it's going to take a while. two, i don't have the time to do so. thanks for your patience.

any complaints, air them here. don't go spamming my other entries unless it's relevant. or my inbox, for that matter.

i will repeat my actions if necessary. but for now, the below will remain in the past.

this is for anyone who downloads from me and is not in my neighbourhood - that doesn't mean you adding me, it means ME adding you, and i haven't added anyone for about two months.

here's a little bit of intormation about me for those of you who don't know. i don't anger easily but i do get annoyed. i usually don't hate people without a reason. i am serious about rules and common courtesy and manners. if i don't like someone or doing something, i avoid it. and i keep my promises.

i got a PM requesting uploading to another server today. despite the fact that i have been posting a warning in every download post, i still managed to get a few requests over this two month period. well, this is the final straw.

i will be locking my next upload posts to my current neighbourhood within 24 hours of the posting time.

note, within 24 hours means just that. it's not after 24 hours, and it can be at any time between 1 hour and 24 hours.

this is effective for at least the next two weeks. i may decide to extend this period or change the conditions as i see fit.

i have given ample warning and am being fair. i'm not an outright bitch, but if people can't be bothered to read what i write then i don't see the point. it's not fun having to make a decision like this, and i know a lot of people lose out. i have made clear my actions on this issue, and i can't help it if a few people ruin it for many.

edit: i did not post this in order to garner apologies. if you have nothing to apologise for, then don't.

unfortunately, it has come to this. too many people have come up and mentioned problems, so i need to find out the extent before i can make any decisions. sorry for the spam, neighbours.

if you can't download, i'm sorry but you'll have to find someone else. or find answers elsewhere. by the way, Google is awesome. i'm not wiki!Arashi. =P

~ Can't download? Now what does that mean? To me, it means that the link is not working. It shows an error message from the uploader. If your download stops halfway or you can't get the page or download to show but everyone else can (i.e. me) it's a problem with your computer, not with my links. So don't come whining about it to me, coz I'll say the same thing: Try downloading it again. Don't panic or throw a fit when you can't download immediately.

Tips to Downloading Split Files from Mediafire and Other Downloading Sites
~ Try different browsers. Different browsers have different saving methods. I recommend Mozilla Firefox - I rarely have problems with it.

~ Clear the cache and cookies of your browser.

~ Occasionally Mediafire will refresh the page instead of downloading the file. Wait before downloading again. This happens when you leave the window open for too long or your download fails.

~ Mediafire constantly refreshing instead of letting you download? Wait a while before trying again. Or clear your cache. Or try right-clicking to "Save As".

~ Right-click and choose "Save Link As" (Firefox) or "Save Target As" (Internet Explorer)

~ Try saving as "All files" in the type box.

~ Don't rename the file when you're saving it. Rename after download.

~ Make sure all the files are the right size. (FAQ #8)

~ Save all split files in the same folder.

~ Rename all split files by copying and pasting everything except for the last number of the file extension.

~ All split files should have the same icon - if not, check and change the file extension (FAQ #9)

> Go to "Start->Control Panel->Folder Options" or in Windows Explorer, "Tools->Folder Options".
> Click the tab that says "View"
> In the Advanced Settings box scroll down to "Hide extensions for known file types" and uncheck the box beside it.
> Click "Apply" and "OK".
> Rename your file.

~ Uninstall and reinstall hjsplit.

~ If all else fails, try downloading again. You may have a corrupted file.

~ Lately there seems to be some problems downloading certain files from Mediafire. It looks like there's something wrong with their servers, which I can't do much about. I suggest you use the alternative mirror links or wait for Mediafire to fix it. Update: it seems like it's fixed now. But please for future reference, don't panic or throw a fit when you can't download immediately. Just be patient and wait for it to be fixed, because most of the time it will be by the time you get back to it.

~ Can't see any video or hear any audio? Did you join with HJSplit? If you did, try downloading the file again. It may have been corrupted on the way.

~ Video shorter than you expected? Check the file sizes. They should all be the same except for the last one. The file size is also shown on the uploaded link. If they are correct, try downloading the file again. It may have been corrupted on the way.

*NEW* ~ Video or audio becomes corrupted after a certain point? Try downloading that section again or from that point onwards. You can also test which part is corrupted by joining up the first couple of parts and checking the video until you get to the corrupted part.

If you have a Mac, forget asking me. I can barely function on a Mac. The only things I know how to do on a Mac is eject my USB drive and Excel.

*NEW* Note that reuploading the same file from the same computer to MF doesn't do anything. They even give you the same link. That means there's no point asking me to reupload a file to MF if it works fine for everyone else except you.

i've already contacted the owner (i never owned the site, i only maintain it) and asked her to check.

i don't think it's the ad problem, because i always see ads there. it could be a high traffic problem, because the site is popular. but i'm worried that someone may have reported it to the jimusho and had it removed, given the recent deletions on YouTube and Veoh.

ah, it seems that the bandwidth for Arashian.com has also been exceeded. so xiaowanzi may be a bit busy =S i'm also rather busy with work atm, so please don't bother me with requests or the like. if it's extremely important, please pm me - both emails i use are VERY clogged up.
